If you are a certified health care professional in the field of Medicine, Psychology, Social Work, or other appropriately licensed discipline qualifying you to counsel patients, you are eligible to apply to be a CHAANGE Affiliated Professional as an independent practitioner. If you have first-hand experience with anxiety it's an asset, though not a prerequisite.

In my experience of over a half century as a psychologist, I see anxiety treatment as the most rewarding area of specialization. With CHAANGE, positive results are most often so evident and come about in months, not years.

Another of the advantages is that you needn't take so much session time to do all of the teaching necessary with behavioral/cognitive/educational approaches.

As a practitioner with The CHAANGE Program, you will see many advantages. The anxiety treatment methods used in the CHAANGE program do much of the teaching. You will achieve more rapid results, and you will find your sessions to be more effective and more enjoyable for both you and the participant. About Our Affiliated Specialists

All CHAANGE Affiliates have been trained by us in treating anxiety conditions and the correct application of the CHAANGE Treatment Program materials. They are all properly licensed to offer services in the area where they function. The CHAANGE Headquarters staff provides support to them.

The CHAANGE Affiliate Program

The CHAANGE Program:

The Center for Help for Anxiety/Agoraphobia through New Growth Experiences ( CHAANGE ) was developed to help individuals, through specially trained and licensed professionals, learn new coping skills, attitudes, and behaviors to alter their limiting anxiety and/or phobias. The CHAANGE process utilizes some of the frequently occurring characteristics of anxious individuals - namely a need for structure and to control the environment.

Growing Your Practice:

The CHAANGE Program provides you with all the necessary materials and support to successfully identify and treat sufferers of severe anxiety, panic disorders and phobias. You are able to expand your practice knowing the treatment you provide through the CHAANGE Program is clinically effective - no need to re-invent the wheel.

Here is what you gain from affiliating with CHAANGE:

The program is easy to use for both you and your clients.

All necessary materials are included and kept by the client for future reference.

The client makes a 16-week commitment that also forms the basis for further work if needed and desired.

You continue to set your own therapy fees and conduct your sessions as you see fit as an independent practitioner.

Marketing Support From CHAANGE: As a CHAANGE affiliate, you receive on-going marketing support from your coordinator and the National Headquarters to help you be successful. Additionally, from time to time, you will receive the following:

News releases you can forward to local media for publicity.

Pre-made ads for yellow pages, local newspaper and other media to inform sufferers of anxiety and panic disorders of your specialty and affiliation with the CHAANGE Program.

Turn-Key Marketing Program of Prepared Presentations is also available.

Our National Headquarters continues to advertise and do public relations work which results in hundreds of calls per month from around the world. We refer as many of these inquiries as possible to affiliated therapists for follow-up. As part of the CHAANGE team, you will be included on the list of Affiliated Professionals made available to interested parties.

Many calls are a result of people reading Free From Fears , written by the authors of the CHAANGE Program and published in 1987 by Simon & Schuster. More recently, Dr. Paul Foxman's book , Dancing With Fear is also resulting in calls to our office to obtain referrals to our affiliates. The books have sold extraordinarily well and the authors have made hundreds of appearances on television and radio, as well as being featured in print articles. Dr. Pullen's book, Transcending Anxiety... Achieving Inner Peace: Firsthand accounts of success by men and women over fearful feelings will also serve as an excellent marketing tool for you.
