These often disturbing events experienced by many of us who have experienced Severe Anxiety, are often the most distressing combination of symptoms. They are intense fears during which we suffer 4 to 12 or so physical symptoms of discomfort, all with in perhaps 10 minutes or so. Those symptoms might be any of the following:
- Palpitations, pounding heart or accelerated heart rate
- Sweating
- Trembling or Shaking
- Sensitive of shortness of breath or smothering
- Feeling of choking
- Chest pains or discomfort
- Nausea or abdominal distress
- Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded or faint
- Feelings of unreality or depersonalization (being detached from oneself)
- Fears of losing control or going crazy
- Fears of dying
- Numbness or tingling sensations
- Chills or hot flashes
